Search for uses of a specific parameter of a template

Is there a way to search for uses of a specific parameter of a template? I want to find all examples of {{infobox goat breed}} that have a value in the |wool parameter, and don't specially want to search 140 articles manually. Background: this is entirely my fault – I activated that parameter some time ago without thinking carefully enough what I was doing. Only one breed of goat actually grows wool, all others grow hair. I want to see how bad the problem is, and decide on a solution (either use the |coat parameter or create a new one for |hair). {{Template parameter usage}} exists, but only works for templates that have TemplateData and is only updated monthly. Assuming the parameters you mean are woolcolor/woolcolour (I see no reference to just a wool parameter in the template anywhere), an insource search brings up this list of pages actively using the parameter and this list of pages at least containing it. There are no such articles, because 'wool' is not a parameter of that template. But here are all the ones that have |country= as a parameter. This search is limited to results in mainspace. Mathglot (talk) 08:11, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is there documentation anywhere of the kind of search you did? – I'd like to read it at least, even if I'm unlikely to understand it. Justlettersandnumbers, I would start with Help:Searching, and supplement with mw:Help:CirrusSearch as needed. It's not hard to understand, but I find it tedious and idiosyncratic, which means you have to read long, and carefully, and don't make assumptions based on other kinds of search you are familiar with. Discussion on use of TemplateStyles outside of template space

There is a discussion on the use of template {{Uses TemplateStyles}} outside of template space, and more generally, the use of */styles.css pages in namespaces other than template and module space.
